Programmatically updating with detailview
I set the Person class to Data Object Type Name property of Object Data Source.
Then By Example: Name = "Joe" Age = 30 Email = "[email protected]" Alternate Email = "[email protected]" In my Details View, I wish edit ONLY the Name and Email fields. We were unable to reproduce it with the instructions provided.
In order to update an existing record, assign the value True to the Details View controls Auto Generate Edit Button property .
event is raised when an Update button within a Details View control is clicked, but before the update operation.
The majority of issues I’ve found have been on the i Phone 6 Plus, which combines the single hierarchy approach of the smaller form factor devices in regular mode, with the side-by-side dual view approach or the larger form factors in compact mode - this hybrid strategy seems to require more direction on our part, whereas elsewhere i OS tends to guess right on its own.
A final note - having to manually ensure the back button exists and is configured on the detail view controller is a bit icky, but I needed to do this to avoid a crash.
I’d love to hear from anyone with more elegant ways to handle this.

This allows you to provide an event handler that performs a custom routine, such as canceling the update operation, whenever this event occurs.
A Details View Update Event Args object is passed to the event handler, which allows you to determine the index of the record being updated and to indicate that the update operation should be canceled.
So, it would be not good those 20 fields in Grid View as it will be a Horizontal row which will cross my page.
Sorry if I ask a Stupid Question, can I display Gridview Records in Vertical like Details View ??
